Rebound Physical Therapy Bend East is in the medical building located near the corner of of NE Cushing Drive and Medical Center Drive. Our clinic is in the Bend Surgery Center Building on the first floor.. If you have trouble finding our clinic please call us at 541-382-7875. Our Bend East physical therapy clinic is a Direct Access Provider – meaning that you may not need a physician’s referral in order to come in for an initial evaluation. Rebound Physical Therapy’s Flagship Location

Rebound Physical Therapy’s Bend East clinic is located in the heart of Bend’s medical community. We are convenient to the hospital and many other medical providers. We have a large in-house warm water therapy pool, for both exercise and Watsu. Many of our specialists work at the Bend East physical therapy clinic, as well as our orthopedic and sports experts. Whatever the source of your pain, Rebound Physical Therapy in Bend, OR will help you understand what’s wrong and what you can do about it. Caroline Shephard, PT, DPT

Caroline Shephard graduated with high honors from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California with a degree in Kinesiology. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Caroline treats a wide range of orthopedic conditions, and has an extensive background in athletics. She is a former Division I collegiate soccer player, earning All-Conference honors and serving as a team captain for the St. Mary’s team. She also received a professional soccer league tryout with the Portland Thorns.

When not in the clinic, Caroline enjoys running, hiking, playing soccer and taking in all of the outdoor activities Bend has to offer.

Connor Perkins, PT, DPT was born and raised in Beaverton, OR. He grew up playing and coaching lacrosse and took that passion and skill to Oregon State University where he played on the OSU Men’s Lacrosse Team.

Connor graduated from OSU with a B.S in Kinesiology and went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Connor’s clinic experience is well rounded taking him from Atlanta, GA, Tillamook, OR, and Mission Hills, CA. Connor has treated patients in multiple different clinical settings including outpatient orthopedics, outpatient hospital based, and inpatient. Connor treats a wide array of patient populations and diagnoses and has a specific interest in active populations, general orthopedics, and neurology.

Connor recently moved to Bend with his girlfriend and joined Rebound Physical Therapy’s Bend East clinic as an outpatient orthopedic staff therapist!

When he is not in the clinic, Connor can be found outside mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, or playing disc golf.

Erica Hranicka, OT, CHT has worked as an outpatient hand therapist for more than fifteen years, and has extensive post-operative and splinting experience. She previously spent 10 years managing outpatient hand therapy and occupational and physical therapy for Tuality Healthcare in the Portland area.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Erica moved to the Pacific Northwest after college and worked in Olympia, WA, in home health and school system settings before moving to Portland, OR. In 2003, Erica transitioned to Tuality’s largest outpatient clinic, and has been working in hand therapy since that time. In 2007 she became the clinic program leader and began supervising the physical and occupational therapy staff members. Erica enjoys problem solving and the pursuit of ongoing learning needed for this complex specialty; and believes that collaboration with her patients is essential when helping them to return to their work and recreational activities.

Erica and her husband, Phillip, are enjoying the active, outdoor lifestyle that comes with the area.

Erin grew up all over the western United States. She graduated from high school in Salinas, California, received a Bachelor in Exercise Science from University of Arizona, and earned her Masters in Physical Therapy at Chapman University in Orange, California, in 1998. Erin first worked in acute care at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula.

After gaining some experience, she pursued her interest in orthopedics at a private practice clinic in Salinas, California. In 2001, she came to Central Oregon and she has been working and growing with Rebound ever since. Erin became a Stott certified Pilates instructor in 2005 and received her Rehab Pilates certification through Stott in 2010. She is one of the only Rehab Pilates certified PT in Central Oregon and is the director for Rebound’s Rehab Pilates program. Stott Pilates is a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to the mind-body exercise practice. Combined with her expertise in orthopedics and manual therapy, this has been very beneficial to her patients. Prenatal and postpartum care is also a special interest of Erin’s practice.

Erin’s postgraduate education in women’s health includes coursework in obstetrics, both prenatal and postpartum, orthopedic incontinence, organ prolapse and visceral mobilization through APTA and Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute.  She applies a holistic approach to restore function and quality of life. She has taken obstetrics coursework through the APTA and directs Rebound’s Women’s Health program, which focuses on pain management, preventative care and patient education during pregnancy and in the months and years to follow. Erin, her husband Scott, and their two children enjoy the Central Oregon lifestyle with skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and the warmer months are full of water skiing, wakeboarding, mountain biking and camping.

Jessica has extensive experience as both an acupuncturist and massage therapist in a variety of clinical settings, having worked in the healthcare field for roughly two decades. She has spent the last 10 years of her career as a licensed acupuncturist after obtaining her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California.

Prior to Rebound, Jessica treated orthopedic patients at an occupational medical center. Prior to that, Jessica spent 12 years working for a Family Practice physician as the primary referral for a wide range of orthopedic conditions. Through Orthopedic Acupuncture, traditional Chinese Medicine, ART (Active Release Techniques) and the Rolf Method, Jessica is able to establish a unique plan of care for each diagnosis.

Outside of the clinic, Jessica enjoys the outdoors and the beauty around her through running, climbing, and biking with her family.

Kerry Hoffman, PT, DPT, ACT, CSCS developed a love of athletics early in life.  Originally from Glasgow, Montana, Hoffman grew up participating in cross country and track & field.  This passion drove her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of North Dakota.  Kerry continued on at the University of North Dakota to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Working her way west, Kerry Hoffman completed clinical training in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Billings and Helena, Montana as well as Nampa, Idaho, developing well rounded experiences in pediatrics, inpatient care, outpatient care, and sports medicine, before beginning her physical therapy career in outpatient physical therapy McMinnville, Oregon. There, she developed a passion for treating post-surgical orthopedics, balance and gait, and pelvic health.
Kerry’s drive for continued education has most recently led her complete levels one and two of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Pelvic Health coursework. Kerry is excited to continue down this path and become part of Rebound’s Women’s Health program, which focuses on management of bowel and bladder dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pain management, preventative care and patient education during pregnancy and in the months and years to follow.
When not in clinic or the classroom, Kerry enjoys running year round, paddle boarding, hiking, and mountain biking in the summer months, as well as skiing in the winter.

Kimberlee joined us in 2017, coming to Central Oregon from Seattle where she was instrumental in developing the Vestibular Rehabilitation Programs at Harborview Medical Center and Evergreen Home Health. She earned her Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, and her Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2014 from the American Physical Therapy Association through Emory University in Atlanta. She has been in PT practice for over 20 years and has extensive experience with the treatment and coordination of care for patients with vestibular disorders, orthopedic injuries, medical and neurologic conditions.

Kimberlee works in the Rebound’s East Bend Clinic treating patients with dizziness, vertigo, concussions and balance problems. The use of an infared video camera helps her to accurately evaluate and treat patients with vestibular disorders.

In her free time, Kimberlee and her family love various outdoor adventures within Central Oregon particularly snowboarding, skate skiing, hiking, biking and trail running.

Lisa obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education & Master Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. She began her career in 2000 in the outpatient therapy department at St. Charles Medical Center. In 2007, Lisa and her husband, Ari left Bend to travel around the world for a year.

Upon their return, Lisa made a decision to focus her career on hand and upper extremity therapy and worked for two years with a hand therapy group in Olympia, WA. Lisa and her family returned to Bend in late 2009 and has since continued her focus on upper extremity rehabilitation. Lisa enjoys being with Ari and their two daughters, traveling, speaking Spanish, and the great outdoors of Central Oregon.

Maura Murphy earned her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University, completing her education with a Fellowship in Hand Therapy at the VA Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Her first job as an Occupational Therapist was at a private outpatient hand clinic in Larkspur, CA which served as a mentorship. This experience expanded her knowledge and skills, and solidified her passion for the specialty. Maura went on to the VA Hospital in Palo Alto where she worked in the acute rehab unit for SCI/D as well as the SCI/D and general outpatient hand clinics.
While at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, Maura helped to launch a pilot clinic called Wellness in Rehab which sought to promote wellness in a post-acute rehab stroke population by addressing the four pillars of wellness: diet/nutrition, exercise, stress management and social engagement/group support. Maura’s enjoyment with participating to the success of the clinic motivated her to obtain formal education in Holistic Nutrition from Bauman College as a means to augment her OT practice.

Melinda earned her Bachelor’s degree from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington before and receiving a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in Cheney. She went on to obtain a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in Missoula.

Prior to Rebound, Melinda worked as an outpatient PT in the Portland area for more than 15 years. Melinda is board certified in both orthopedic (OCS) and sports (SCS) physical therapy, and also specializes in post-operative care. She is currently working toward a Stott Pilates Certification to further her range of clinical specialties.

When not treating patients in the clinic, Melinda enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons. Her hobbies include trail running, cooking, and exploring Central Oregon’s lakes and rivers on her paddleboard.

Stephanie Sultzer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Following graduation, Stephanie obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Boston University and ever since, she’s been working in outpatient orthopedics at well-respected clinics located in Boston and Richmond, Virginia. Stephanie has over 10 years outpatient orthopedic experience and a treatment philosophy rooted in manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, and patient education.

Stephanie places emphasis on being a lifelong learner in many areas of life, especially in physical therapy. She recently completed over a year-long advanced manual therapy training curriculum with the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in Massachusetts. Along with her husband and their two young daughters, Stephanie loves to explore the outdoors;  she enjoys hiking, running and the occasional pickup soccer game.

Tony Dao, OTR/L, CHT is the Director of Rebound’s Hand Therapy program.  Tony has practiced as an occupational therapist since graduating from the University of Washington. He began his career working in acute care at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center (HMC), the region’s only level 1 trauma center. He gained his initial experience treating patients in the general surgery/trauma, orthopedic and neuroscience services.

During this time Tony developed a deep passion for treating the upper extremity. He worked hard to attain the title of OT Clinical Specialist, which enabled him to mentor other clinicians in trauma care, including post-operative wound care and fabrication of custom orthoses/splints. His goal of transitioning to outpatient hand therapy was realized when he joined Integrated Rehabilitation Group (IRG) as the Director of Hand Therapy in 2005. During his 9 year tenure, IRG expanded to 8 hand therapy clinics with Tony as the clinical lead providing mentoring and education to their clinical staff, while maintaining strong relationships with local physicians and the community. Tony strives to continually sharpen his skills through continuing education courses.

He has attended hundreds of hours of classes in subjects including manual therapy and advanced splinting techniques. He has completed the coursework and is now eligible for manual therapy certification (COMT) from the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine-US. Other schools of training he has attended and valued include the Mulligan Concept, Doctors Demystify, Seattle Center for Structural Medicine, Kinesio taping Association, and Orfit Splinting Workshops.

Tony and his wife, Rebecca, and their two children enjoy the Central Oregon community and make the most of the both snowy and sunny days. From skiing at Bachelor and the local Nordic trails, to fly fishing, trail running, playing golf, hiking and enjoying the outdoors; each day is a welcomed adventure!
