Our Bend South physical therapy clinic is a Direct Access Provider – meaning that you may not need a physician’s referral in order to come in for an initial evaluation. Bobby Bemis, PT, DPT, COMT, DIP.MT, FAAOMPT

Bobby Bemis was raised in Denver, Colorado, but frequently traveled internationally as his father was a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force. Bobby was one of five children all born in different countries. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Regis University in Denver.

Bobby has achieved multiple professional credentials related to manual therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Bobby is also a Certified Vestibular Specialist through Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia). In addition to general orthopedics and manual therapy, his treatment specialties include the spine, vestibular, and tempo-mandibular disorders. As part of his clinical experience in PT school, Bobby spent several weeks in Ethiopia treating a variety of orthopedic conditions.

Outside of work, Bobby enjoys cooking, reading, open water swimming, mountain biking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with his Portuguese water dog, Melvin.

Lela Stemple PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS

Originally from Medford, OR, Lela Stemple PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS earned her undergrad degree in athletic training as well as her DPT from Boston University in Boston, MA.

Lela (pronounced Lee-la) gained clinical experience in athletic training working with Division 1 college athletes at Harvard University as well as other schools. Her physical therapy clinical experience took her all over the country before she ultimately began her PT career in Phoenix, AZ.

Stemple’s certifications in athletic training and strength and conditioning have steered her towards working with athletes of all ages. However, she has a strong background in general outpatient orthopedics, post-surgical care, and vestibular conditions.

Lela and her fiancé relocated to Central Oregon so he could pursue advanced educational opportunities at OSU – Cascades. Outside of work and school Lela and William enjoy trying new food carts, running, hiking and biking with their dog, Axl.

Rachel Tiry, PT, DPT

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Following graduation, she worked in outpatient orthopedics in the Minneapolis area, gaining excellent experience in treating a wide variety of conservative and post-operative orthopedic conditions.

Prior to Rebound, Rachel worked as a travel physical therapist, living in seven different states over three and a half years. During this period, she spent a large amount of time in orthopedics and sports medicine, allowing her to reaffirm her passion for working with diverse, active patient populations.  Rachel and her husband love the lifestyle that Central Oregon offers with endless biking, hiking, camping, and skiing. She is incredibly excited to be part of a community centered around all things outdoors.

Sophia Holms, PT, DPT

Growing up in Southern CA (Fullerton, CA), Sophia spent her teen  years playing both indoor and beach volleyball, going on to play collegiate NCAA volleyball at Clarkson University in upstate New York. Following her graduation from Clarkson, Sophia earned her DPT at Simmons College in Boston.

During her doctorate program, Sophia conducted student-led research presented by the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in 2022.  She presented a poster which solidified her interest in research, particularly the influence of fatigue in physical therapy assessments and interventions. Along these lines, Sophia is very interested in sports medicine and one of her professional goals includes becoming a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS).

In addition to Sophia’s focus on providing high quality patient care, she served in volunteer roles to advocate for individuals within her communities.  As a member of the Spaulding Runners In Training Program (SPRINT) in Boston, she assisted individuals in various stages of recovery from brain injury, stroke and other neurological conditions in their return to running.  As a former collegiate volleyball player, Sophia has a great love for fitness and sports that drives her to help others to stay active and get back to what they love.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys hiking, rowing, biking and has developed a passion for weightlifting.  She also has a fondness for large breed dogs particularly Newfoundlands.
