Rebound supports Annabelle’s Angel Glow Run / Walk in Bend

On October 17, 2014 Rebound took the lead sponsorship role for the second annual Anabelle’s Angel Glow Run/Walk to benefit Anabelle Wilson and Central Oregon Sparrow Clubs.

The event brought out all variety of Bend runners and walkers. Some on the first 5K of their running career, others well accomplished in their feat. With over 700 participants, $16,000 was raised through registrations, raffle, and donations to Sparrow Clubs from various schools throughout Bend.

Anabelle was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy in April of 2010. Her body is missing an enzyme that breaks down “sulfatides.” Because her body is missing this enzyme, it is eating away at the white matter of her brain.

This illness has caused Anabelle to slowly lose all her body functions. She went from walking, to crawling, to rolling. She can now no longer sit, stand, walk, talk or eat on her own. She is beginning to lose her vision as well. Doctors say that children with this illness will live to be anywhere from 5-10 years old.

Since her diagnosis Anabelle has become an adopted member of the Central Oregon Sparrow Club. This helps with her costly physician appointments in Portland and daily living expenses as she continues to fight this incurable disease. Her family is truly dedicated to sharing in the time they have with her and the joy she continues to bring the family as she struggles against her condition.
Rebound is delighted to help in the fight again this disease and support Anabelle and her family as they continue on this journey.
