Title: Physical Therapist Aide (PT Aide)
Reports to: Clinic Manager/Supervisor or PT Aide Supervisor
Status: Hourly & Non-exempt

Job Summary:
Under close supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant, perform select patient care tasks and maintain a clean treatment area. The extent to which an aide performs clerical tasks depends on the needs of the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care Duties:

  • Direct ambulatory patients to-and-from treatment areas (including those patients using wheelchairs). Patients identified as fall-risks will be handled by licensed staff.
  • Confer with physical therapy staff for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.
  • Instruct patients performing therapeutic exercises and activities, under direction of therapist staff. Record treatment provided and equipment used.
  • Properly fit/position patients on exercise equipment.
  • Observe patients during treatment to compile and assess patients’ responses and progress, and report to physical therapist.
  • Safely administer treatment modalities including electrical stimulation, Micro Current stimulation, ultrasound, cold laser, and the application of ice and heat packs. Be knowledgeable of the function/purpose of these modalities.
  • Assist hand therapist with splint making and administering hand therapy exercises.

Non- Patient Care Duties:

  • Perform opening / closing duties for the clinic, locking doors and securing the building.
  • Responsible for maintaining clinic cleanliness. This includes completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain clinic equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories.
  • Change linens, such as bed sheets and pillow cases, launder linens and restock rooms.
  • Disinfect equipment after treatment.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18-years of age and have a high school diploma
  • Personable, energetic, and capable of working with a diverse patient population and in a team environment
  • Reliable and professional with the ability to place value on and maintain high quality patient care as number one priority.
  • Dress in clinic appropriate attire to convey professionalism.
  • Preference will be given to applicants holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Physical Therapy coursework and a desire to pursue a career within Physical Therapy.

Essential Job Duties:
Job is physically demanding. PT Aides often have to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, and stand for long periods. In addition, PT Aides move heavy equipment and help patients turn, stand, or walk. Must have strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Hours
Rebound clinics are open from 7am – 7 pm.  Full-time PT Aides are expected to work approximately 32 – 40 hours per week. The days and hours may vary with each facility, and depending on the needs of the clinics.

Administrative Positions

Job Summary
Works in collaboration with Front Office Manger and staff to implement best practices for front office processes including: planning; staff communications; customer service; systems, training and scheduling. Provides administrative support for front office manager and clinicians in the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Sets the standard for delivering excellent responsive customer service for our patients. Serves as a liaison to clinic and administrative team.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Warmly greets and welcomes patients to Rebound.
  • Implements and coordinates best practices for front office processes and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties which requires the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skills, and a detailed knowledge of the activities and procedures specific to the clinic.
  • Competent with computer systems email, MS-Word, MS-Excel, and Raintree.
  • With clinician input, develops efficient methods for patient scheduling. Uses Raintree to schedule appointments by using “cluster” method and clinic specific scheduling guidelines.
  • Accurately input patient information into the EMR system as well as account comments as needed for future reference.
  • Prepares patient charts and verifies that patient has correctly provided all information and the patient has signed all the necessary registration forms.
  • Communicates frequently with the Manager/Lead to insure proper implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Ensures that patient records/files are accurate and complete, and that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained.
  • Provide flexible front office coverage for vacations/sickness/absences.
  • Maintains the aesthetics and functionality of the clinic in relation to cleanliness and ambiance to include window washing, touch up paint, carpet cleaning, garbage disposal, lighting, cable and phone systems, etc. In the absence of a Front Office Lead, may arrange or assign routine and preventative maintenance.
  • In the absence of a Front Office Manager or Lead, coordinates the efficient operation (maintenance) and training on all office equipment to include telephone system, computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
  • In the absence of a Front Office Manager or Lead, coordinates Rebound communications. Posts all company communications, employee relations information, company newsletter etc. in break room. Shares information about new processes, updates, changes to policy or practice. Solicits input from staff and communicates to the administrative team.
  • Participates in front office trainings and constantly looks for ways to improve the patient experience or streamline workflow to foster efficiencies in how we work.
  • Does what needs to be done to uphold the professional, fun image of Rebound.
  • Communicates clinic needs to manager/lead.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as requested by management.

Work Hours
Rebound clinics are open from 7 am – 7 pm. It is expected that full-time FO staff work a minimum 36 hours per week on a consistent basis. Part-time FO employees are expected to work approximately 10 – 24 hours per week. The days and hours may vary with each facility, and depending on the needs of the clinics.
