Therapist Spotlight: Laura Mann, PT, DPT, OCS

Laura Mann, PT

For Rebound physical therapist and West Clinic Manager Laura Mann, PT, treating patients is like putting together pieces of a puzzle.

“I really love the problem-solving and detective work involved,” said Mann of her role as a physical therapist. “As PTs, we look at the whole body — when someone’s ankle hurts we look at other parts of the body (for clues), too.”

After working as the Redmond Clinic Manager for five years, Mann recently assumed the role of Clinic Manager at Rebound’s West Clinic. She plans to cultivate Rebound’s connections among Bend’s health and fitness industry.

An avid snowboarder and former collegiate volleyball player, Mann has experience working with local athletes; she is currently treating professional rodeo bareback rider Steven Peebles, of Redmond.

Mann also hopes to strengthen Rebound’s relationships with Central Oregon doctors in order to give patients the best care possible: “Our patients know that we are communicating with their doctors in regard to how their (rehab) progress is going and what their preferences are.”

Communicating with physicians on behalf of her patients is nothing new to Mann. Prior to Rebound, she frequently consulted with orthopedic surgeons as a lead physical therapist at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

“We had really intimate knowledge of each (of our patient’s) procedure(s),” said Laura Mann, PT, who is board certified in orthopedic physical therapy and specializes in treating complex post-operative conditions.

The information gained from consulting with physicians helps PTs develop personalized rehab plans for their patients, according to Mann. “It helps us guide patients,” she said, “and give them the information and tools they need to be successful in their rehab.”
