Rene Bates PT, DPT, MTC, CFC


Rene hails from a small town on Lake Michigan. He graduated in 1993 from Old Dominion University Physical Therapy School in Norfolk, Virginia. Rene continued his education at University of Saint Augustine where he became a certified manual therapist in 2000. Rene also completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at University of Saint Augustine in 2009. He has completed his Certification in Cranio-mandibular Head, Neck and Face pain at University of Saint Augustine where he studied with renowned TMJ expert Mariano Rocabado. Rene is clinical director of Temoporomandibular Joint Rehabilitation for Rebound. He has been mentored by Alan Weismantel, PT, CMT, FAACMPT, as a clinical instructor and was his assistant instructor beginning in 1998. Rene developed a system of functional integration exercises which are incorporated in to Weismantel’s functional manual therapy treatment sequence. Rene is also a registered yoga instructor. The functional integration exercises he uses are influenced by his Anusara yoga experience. He has many years of clinical experience treating patients using manual therapy in outpatient settings. Rene enjoys all Bend and Central Oregon has to offer its people, pedaling bikes, drifting the lower Deschutes and surfing Mt. Bachelor.
