Joy Torbett PT, DPT, OCS


Joy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and then in 1999, Joy graduated from the University of Southern California with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She worked for USC University Hospital in rehab, acute, and eventually orthopedics while also doing a year-long manual therapy curriculum in 2001. In 2004, Joy was recognized as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and in 2006 as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). After leaving USC University Hospital in 2003, Joy then worked for another local LA hospital in outpatient orthopedics, while also volunteering and working as adjunct clinical faculty at the University of Southern California Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy Department. Joy was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. As a child and teenager, she was always active, either trying to keep up with her two older brothers or running circles around them playing sports year-round. After graduating from high school, Joy had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand with an all-star Northern California basketball team representing the USA. She and her husband and daughter enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
