ACL Injury Prevention

The Kneebound Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injury Prevention Program is preventing many knee injuries while simultaneously improving the performance of athletes. Expect to increase speed, agility and proprioception (body awareness). The program is beneficial for all athletes, but initially we are targeting females because of their greater susceptibility to ACL injuries.

What is KneeBound?

The Kneebound program combines awareness of injury mechanisms, “safe” vs. “unsafe” body positions, and a 20-minute exercise program based on research and clinical experience.

If you are a coach, you will find that you may already do the same or similar exercises with your athletes. On paper the exercises look basic. The challenge is executing them properly. Again, this is not just about strengthening, but teaching the body to avoid susceptible positions. Think of injury avoidance as a skill that can be learned.

The program involves high-level skills that don’t require any equipment and little space. We recommend that you do the program with the exercises in the same order three times a week pre- and post-season and two times a week in season.

The highly effective program KneeBound Injury Prevention Program for Athletes has been tested in high schools around Central Oregon in nearly every sport and is now available to the public on DVD. For more information or to purchase a DVD call (541) 388-2333 or go to www.kneebound.com.
