Prebound

Therpists leads a patient into pre-operative exercises.

What is Prebound?
Patients who undergo surgery in good physical condition greatly improve their chances for a successful operation. Prehabilitation at Rebound includes the evaluation of ones physical strengths and weaknesses prior to surgery. Our program prepares your body and more specifically, your area of injury, for the surgical procedure.

Education
· Knowledge of the surgical procedure you are undergoing

· The do’s and dont’s before and after surgery

Exercise
Recommended group of exercises to improve strength, flexibility and function specific to your needs and surgical procedure

Acupuncture for Post-Operative Pain
Ear acupuncture points may be stimulated (for periods of time ranging from a few days up to two weeks) using ear tacks. They are small needles held in place with a small adhesive tape and have been shown to reduce post-operative pain, reduce need for medication, and improve healing time. In clinical trials*, post-operative pain decreases significantly in acupuncture treatment groups.
*Clinical trials from databases of Mediline (1966-2007), CINAHL, The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Scopus.
