Tonya was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in the “great white north” in Duluth, Minnesota. There she discovered a passion for horses and also enjoyed training dogs. Throughout her high school and college career she spent free time volunteering at a therapeutic horse-back riding program. She graduated with her PTA degree in 1994 and spent several years creating training and rehab programs for both healthy and injured horses.

Tonya moved to Indianapolis to pursue her undergraduate degree in Biology from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. She continued her education in Charleston, South Carolina where she attended the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated with a Masters of Science Physical Therapy. During that time, Tonya traveled on medical mission trips to South Africa and Nicaragua where she was able to practice Physical Therapy and made significant personal differences in the lives of those they treated and the communities.

Tonya is a recent Bend transplant and looks forward to using her skills in the orthopedic setting and helping people return to their lives after an injury. Tonya runs ultra marathons, and also enjoys riding horses, theater, and reading.
