Rene hails from a small town on Lake Michigan. He graduated in 1993 from Old Dominion University Physical Therapy School in Norfolk, Virginia. Rene continued his education at University of Saint Augustine where he became a certified manual therapist in 2000.
He was mentored there by Alan Weismantel, PT, CMT, FAACMPT, as a clinical instructor and was his assistant instructor beginning in 1998. Rene developed a system of functional integration exercises which are incorporated in to Weismantel's functional manual therapy treatment sequence. Rene is also a registered yoga instructor. The functional integration exercises are influenced by his Anusara yoga experience. He has 14 years of clinical experience treating patients using manual therapy in outpatient settings.
Rene is passionate about understanding the human body and function. Family includes wife, Carrie, and dog, Coalbear. He believes the best thing he ever did was to move to Bend, where he enjoys the array of outdoor activities, including snowboarding, fishing and mountain biking.
