Originally from Houston, Texas, Julie earned her BA in Music Education from the University of Houston. She went on to receive her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1993, and soon after moved to the Northwest. During that time she practiced in hospital acute and rehab settings. In 1997 she decided to specialize in hand therapy. Julie moved to Georgia to pursue this certification, but missed the NW and returned to Seattle in 1998. There, she gained experience working with six highly skilled certified hand surgeons and three occupational therapists in a very busy hand therapy clinic.
Julie enjoys her work, and became a certified hand therapist (CHT) in 1999. A CHT is a physical therapist who has a minimum of five years clinical experience, at least 2,000 hours practicing hand therapy, and has passed a comprehensive national certification exam. Julie is familiar with most hand and upper extremity conditions. She treats a variety of diagnoses including fractures, tendon injuries, tendonitis, amputation, nerve injuries, cumulative trauma, arthritis, burns, nerve compressions, sprains/strains, impingement and wound care.
Julie joined Rebound Physical Therapy in 2002 to live in a sunny climate and work in an excellent clinical setting where her skills are appreciated. She is active in jogging, hiking, cycling and hanging out with her dogs Sika and Gabriel.
